Opening night features three 19th-century masterpieces inspired by the Bible. Deeply personal works by Brahms, Dvořák, and Wolf explore themes ranging from the tenderness of Love to the agony of Sin and the miracle of Redemption.

Opera Las Vegas

Wine and song go together so naturally that Opera Las Vegas is going to merrily serve up both along with a sumptuous meal, at Opera Uncorked on Tuesday, 10 September at Monzú Italian Oven + Bar, at 5:30 pm.

Patrons at this mini-gala can expect to be treated to timeless tunes paired with exquisite wines and Chef Gio's delectable full course repast, as OLV’s full-throated troubadors lead a musical toast with some of the most celebrated drinking songs and party scenes in all of Operadom. Three outstanding vocalists also promise to regale attendees with a few more ‘sobering’ world-famous arias and duets that figure prominently on the opera hit parade.

The champagne-inspired, lilting score of Strauss’ Die Fledermaus will set off an effervescent line-up of selections to equally tickle the nose, the palate, and the ear. The ebullient waltz rhythms of Drink, Drink, Drink from Herbert’s The Student Prince are sure to inspire jovial singing and swaying.

The heartfelt sentiments Drink to Me Only With Thine Eyes, the melancholy beauty of Drink With Me (Les Miserables), and the up tempo jocularity of The Night They Invented Champagne (Gigi) are but a few of the other tuneful delights in store. In addition to show standards, operatic hits will fill the air with Una furtiva lagrima (The Elixir of Love), My Dear Marquis (Die Fledermaus), and the famous toasting duet, Libiamo (La Traviata).

A limited number of tickets are available! The schedule: Welcome, 5:30 pm; Musical Program, 6:30 pm; Dinner, 7:30 pm.

Cedar Rapids Opera

Cedar Rapids Opera presents a first-in-Iowa and a signature Cedar Rapids Opera event.

This Competition will award prizes totaling over $50,000 to nine finalists, positioning it as one of the top vocal competitions in the United States in 2024.

East Passyunk Opera Project returns this year to The Arts on Center Stage at Dilworth Park for an evening of the greatest hits from opera and musical theater in the impressive shadow of Philadelphia's City Hall!

The concert stars vocalists who perform all over the world; some of which have made Philadelphia their home!
